The Ultimate Picture Palace, Jeune Street, Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1BN
In a collaboration between the Ultimate Picture Palace and the Kafka's Transformative Communities project, the award-winning Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland will come to Oxford on 4 March for the first public UK screening of her recent biopic FRANZ, which was Poland’s 2026 Oscar nomination for Best International Feature Film.
Holland’s work, which includes Europa Europa (1990) and Green Border (2023), stands for artistic courage and intellectual seriousness. Her engagement with Kafka in this new film resonates with what the Kafka project has been trying to achieve, and so to welcome her to Oxford feels both timely and meaningful.
